  Tuesday, 25th August: Wine Workshop, Sydney  
       
    This workshop hosted by the Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD) targeted New South Wales wine producers, offering information on the latest trends, issues and opportunities in the Asian wine market. Approximately 60 participants attended the event, with several interested in joining the DSRD mission to exhibit in the Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair 2009.

Guest speakers included Ms Bonnie Shek, Director Aust/NZ HKTDC.

The presentation was followed by a panel session featuring case studies by:

  Managing Opportunities and Challenges in China  
       
    Another successful business seminar hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on Monday 7th September 2009 in Brisbane which was supported by the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI). The evening featured Ms Bonnie Shek, Director of the HKTDC Australia/NZ who outlined the opportunities in doing business with Hong Kong/China. Guest speakers Davide Baggs, Co-Founder of Ecospecifier and Michele Fleming, Associate Principal of Populous shared their extensive experience in doing business with Hong Kong and China.

The business seminar was attended by over 80 local business people from various industries who showed great enthusiasm in business opportunities with Hong Kong and China. The event ended with a relaxing and enjoyable cocktail networking for all participants.
