  Mega Bridge project reaches new stage

The Hong Kong project for Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge has reached a new stage with the Highways Department and Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong Ltd signing an agreement for the detailed design of bridge’s Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities Reclamation Works (September 17).

On the other hand, measures proposed for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge's construction and operation have been deemed environmentally acceptable, the project's chief engineer Aaron Bok says.

  "Creative October" launched

Hong Kong will celebrate its standing as one of Asia’s leading cultural cities with "Creative October" – an extravaganza of more than 200 music, theatre, dance, and film events, plus an arts festival and a symposium.

Hong Kong has also established a high level committee to oversee future planning and policy objectives to ensure the SAR remains a leading hub for the region’s creative industries.

  Hong Kong attracts record investment

Hong Kong has continued to attract record levels of foreign investment through 2008 despite tougher conditions around the world, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

Latest statistics reveal Hong Kong is Asia's second largest recipient of foreign direct investment (FDI) and is ranked seventh worldwide, attracting US$63 billion in inward investment in 2008.

  Inaugural HK Week to promote Hong Kong in New Zealand

Film, fine food and wine, tourism and investment took centre stage at Auckland's inaugural Hong Kong Week to showcase the unique cosmopolitan culture of Asia's leading international city.

The event, sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Sydney (HKETO), featured a programme highlighting Hong Kong's vibrant creativity including a Food and Wine Appreciation banquet, a Hong Kong Film Festival, a film seminar and an exhibition on tourism and investment.
