Satisfying That Appetite For Trade Success

Prepare to heighten your gastronomic experience by joining the 20th HKTDC Food Expo, an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in August. The Food Expo is always a feast for all the senses, and the coming Fair will be no exception, with more than one way to satisfy your appetite for business.

The event, which appeals to the tastes of both trade and public visitors, last year drew more than 490 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, including Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Australia, Austria, Canada, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, the US and Vietnam. The Trade Hall at Food Expo 2009 has one ultimate goal – that of bringing together international food retailers, suppliers, wholesalers, brokers and sales agency representatives under one roof. The last edition of Food Expo attracted more than 8,700 trade buyers from 59 countries and regions, with the emphasis on the Asia region. Visit the Fair website for more information.

  An International Tea Party

With a tea-drinking lifestyle emerging in cities all over the world, there is nothing hotter in today’s market than tea. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, tea production reached 3.87 million tonnes in 2007.

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Chinese Tea Culture International Exchange Association, the event is a genuine international tea party of exhibitors, with a focus on tea-producing and tea-trading regions such as the Chinese mainland, India, Japan and Sri Lanka. The Hong Kong International Tea Fair will open to the public on its last day, allowing exhibitors to both win business and meet customers at the one Fair.   Good health for business

The International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) is a leading global venue for traditional Chinese medicine and health products. Hong Kong is a natural meeting place for this trade, given the prime role many of its practitioners and researchers are playing in developing these traditional skills to fit the needs of today’s modern world.

The ICMCM plays a vital role in linking regional and international Chinese medicine practitioners and businesses with a worldwide audience. This popular event attracted 110 exhibitors from eight countries and regions in 2008. Exhibitors from the established markets of Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan were joined by companies and organisations from Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore. Products and services exhibited came from the major industry sectors, and included Chinese medicine, health supplements, health care and therapy, raw materials and equipment, and research and development.
