20th anniversary of the HKSAR
1 July 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). A wide variety of celebration activities would be organised under the theme of “Together‧Progress‧Opportunity”. In Hong Kong, activities include large-scale sports and cultural events, major exhibitions, international conferences, as well as community events. An array of celebration events will also be staged overseas, including Australia and New Zealand on this special occasion. Read more here about the celebration events.
     
The legend of Hong Kong toys
Hong Kong is the world’s second largest toy exporter, and the Legend of Hong Kong Toys exhibition was launched on 2 March to showcase the history of toy manufacturing and the evolution of toys in Hong Kong by displaying over 2000 new and old toys including locally made toys and classic toys that are familiar to Hong Kong people. The exhibition will run until 15 May at the Hong Kong Museum of History. Find out more here.
     
  Record number of overseas and Mainland companies set up or expanded in Hong Kong
Invest Hong Kong had assisted a record of 391 overseas and Mainland companies to set up or expand in Hong Kong in 2016. The 391 companies came from 40 economies, mainly from the sectors of transport and industry, tourism and hospitality, and innovation and technology. These companies together created 3968 new jobs in their first year of establishment or expansion, which represented a nearly 9 percent increase compared to 2015. Read more here.
 
     
  ICAC updates business community on international anti-corruption efforts
Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has launched its latest electric newsletter ICAC Post to update business community on international anti-corruption efforts. In this issue, it addresses the latest international surveys which include Index of Economic Freedom, Corruption Perceptions Index and TRACE Matric where all indicated Hong Kong as a clean environment for doing business. It also includes the latest annual ICAC survey and the newly launched guide for corruption prevention for listed companies in light of amended listing rules which required them to disclose their anti-graft policies.   Cyberport Career Fair 2017 successfully held
The annual Cyberport Career Fair was successfully held on 3 March at Cyberport. The fair  which aimed at inspiring young people of digital technology talent and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit had offered over 500 jobs and opportunities from 70 technology companies, including start-ups in FinTech, EduTech, Wearables and e-Commerce.   Sale of Australian philatelic products
The HongKong Post had put on sale of annual albums issued by the postal administrations from overseas including Australia and New Zealand on 16 March. Selected philatelic products from Australia and New Zealand postal administrations were also available for sale on the same day.
