  HKSAR celebrates 20th anniversary in 2017
1 July 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Under the theme of “Together • Progress • Opportunity” aiming to showcase the successful implementation of “one country, two systems”, bringing about social cohesion and unity, and building up confidence and seizing opportunities, the HKSAR Government will join hands with different sectors to organise a wide variety of celebrations to share the joy of the anniversary with the whole community.   Hong Kong Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is the biggest and most colourful festival in Hong Kong where you will experience a Chinese New Year like no other, with a fabulous night parade of floats, a stunning fireworks show over the harbour, a heart-pounding action at the race track, and so much more. You may also squeeze into crowded temples to pray for good fortune, browse festive markets selling auspicious food and blooms and photograph the shock-red lanterns that adorn the city.   Grand Weddings of Qing Emperors exhibition
The grand weddings of the Qing emperors were majestic state ceremonies and among the most solemn celebrations within the Forbidden City in Beijing. The Ceremony and Celebration – Grand Weddings of the Qing Emperors exhibition is now running at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum until 27 February 2017. More than 150 items/sets of exhibits selected from the rare and unique collections of The Palace Museum in Beijing are on display. Know more about the exhibition here.
 
     
  Asian Financial Forum 2017
The 10th Asian Financial Forum will be held in Hong Kong on 16 and 17 January 2017. This annual event brings together some of the most influential members of the global financial and business community to discuss developments and trends in the dynamic markets of Asia.  In 2016, the Forum attracted more than 2,800 participants from 38 countries and regions. This year, under the theme of “Asia: Driving Change, Innovation and Connectivity”, the Forum will examine the region’s evolving opportunities and challenges. Read more about the Forum here.
 
     
  Hong Kong Marathon 2017
Hong Kong Marathon comes again! World elite runners will compete in Hong Kong’s largest outdoor sporting event on 12 February 2017. The sport event has grown from just 1,000 participants in 1997 to tens of thousands in recent years. It is expected to be even bigger in 2017, with a full marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km run taking participants past some of the best urban scenery Asia’s world city offers.
