  LOCAL EVENTS IN REVIEW  
     
  NATIONAL ONLINE RETAILERS ASSOCIATION, 7th May 2015  
     
  Hosts:  The National Online Retailers Association, Retail Miss Fix It, Nancy George and Hong Kong Trade Development Council.  
     
  The first seminar held with the National Online Retailers Association, was launched with an introduction from Paul Greenburg, Founder of NORA outlining their activities for the year ahead.  
     
  Toni Wade presented HKTDC’s services and offered and overview Hong Kong’s role and benefits. Cloris Long presented the HKTDC’s  latest online sourcing platform Small Order Zone offering a demonstration to the audience on how to place an order via the SOZ, including the secure online pay way.  
     
  Nancy Georges presentation highlighted the challenges facing today’s retailers and tips for small business.   
     
     
  COMMON THREADS – TEXTILES FASHION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION – HONG KONG MISSION, 24-28 AUGUST 2-15  
     
  The Textiles Fashion Industry Association educational seminars aim to equip Australian fashion designers to gain access to the Hong Kong export markets.  
     
  The events were held in Sydney and Melbourne featured guest speakers from the TFIA, the Export Council of Australia, together with Rob Morrison from TradeStart discussing entry strategies, while Nick Henderson of AsiaLink discussed the cultural nuances to be considered when entering a new market.  
     
  Toni Wade of the HKTDC discussed Hong Kong as a fashion hub and the opportunities for designers in this dynamic market.  
     
  These seminars will now be followed by a pitching event, where local designers compete for a place in the upcoming Mission to Hong Kong.  
     
  The brands pitched to a panel of industry experts with final participants selected for the mission to Hong Kong. Eleven designers showcased in a pop-up shop, cocktail reception, and various business meetings to explore the potential opportunities for their brands in Hong Kong.  
     
  The participating designers are: B. Sirius, Basquesse, Katie Perry, Livia Arena, MM Sohn, Morgan Marks, OK OK, Roman & Ludmila, Tatyana Ariyan Design, Vigorella and Welfe. We wish them every success.

  LIMA LICENSING BREAKFAST, 16th SEPTEMBER, 2015.  
     
  The HKTDC hosted a very successful breakfast seminar at Hong Kong House, presented by LIMA Australia. LIMA – the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association – is the leading trade organization for the global licensing industry. The seminar presented an outstanding opportunity for the licensing industry to network and keep abreast of current events and industry trends, especially the forthcoming HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show and the Asian Licensing Conference (both 11-13 January, 2016).  
     
  The event was exceptionally well-attended with representatives from a slew of major Australian and international companies.  
     
  Paul Field, the Managing Director of The Wiggles, gave a compelling and informative presentation detailing the 25 year legacy of the group and the recent re-launch and fresh line-up of The Wiggles.  
     
  Bonnie Shek, Director, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Australia & New Zealand closed the seminar with an overview of unique opportunities Hong Kong offers the licensing industry and the plans for an Australian pavilion at January’s licensing show.
