  Koalas, Kiwis and Aussies invade Hong Kong  
     
  A record of 65 Australian and New Zealand participants descended on to the 15th Hong Kong Forum this year. A full 2 days’ Forum saw participants hear about Hong Kong as a Brand Central and as The Expressway to Asia Success.

Mr Song Hoi See of Plaza Premium Lounges explained how his business grew because he had a vision for airport Premium Lounges that could be accessible to everyone. The Hon Bernard Chan provided an insider’s story of Hong Kong latest economic and political developments. Several dialogues provided an insight into achieving international businesses within Hong Kong.
 
     
  Strong competition for Federation’s Awards did not stop HKABA-NSW from winning the Grand Achievement Award and Black Diamondz from NSW winning the Success Story Award.

Lucinda Chan from the National Office was elected Vice-Chairman of the HK Federation.

The Forum Farewell Dinner was a resounding success with Dion Woo from NSW opening the concert with his own rendition of “I Love Hong Kong” to the joyous participation from the Japanese and Hawaiian Chapters. In addition the South Australian Chapter organised several “behind the scenes” tour of the HK Convention Centre, Cathay Pacific Terminal, Ocean Park and an exclusive lunch at the HK Football Club with extensive views of the Happy Valley racecourse.

The unique setting of the Neptune Restaurant, with the Asia’s largest aquarium as its background provided a stunning evening of fine dining. Joseph Leung, Executive Director Revenue and his team were the most consummate hosts.

Eight koalas are now in quarantine in Ocean Park awaiting the grand opening of the Australian Pavilion in March 2015. A special pavilion with eucalyptus trees is being designed for these furry creatures. The South Australian Chapter also arranged for an economic briefing at Austrade by Mr Paul Tighe, the Australian Consul General and Mr Dan Tebutt, the Senior Trade Commissioner.

The SME Expo, the Inno Design and BIP Asia saw many new products and ideas showcased. An array of 3D print machines set the stage for innovations of the future.
