  1. Hong Kong scientists invent new water purifier  
     
  Scientists from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have invented a brand new water purifier that can operate at low costs. The device uses low-voltage pulsed electricity to kill more than 99% of waterborne bacteria within seconds. The purifier is currently receiving further testing and the inventors aim to make it a household item in the future.

  2. Hong Kong's historic tram celebrates its 110th anniversary  
     
  As one of the oldest public transport system in Hong Kong, the trams have been running on Hong Kong Island since 1904. Over the last century, Hong Kong Trams witnessed the development of the city, and it's now the world's largest fleet of double-deck tramcars that is still in service.

  TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel information website, recently announced the winners of the Traveller's Choice Awards for Amusement Parks and Water Parks around the globe and Hong Kong’s Ocean Park was featured on ranked number two in Asia!

  4. PMQ grand opening in Hong Kong  
     
  The revitalised PMQ site not only brings together more than 100 local creative entrepreneurs, it’s also a tourist attraction in its own right.Lying idle for years, the former Police Married Quarters in Central, a historic-grade building, has been revitalised into a creative hub for local design talent! It now accommodates 130 tenants from well-known local designers, creative start-ups as well as international designers.

  5. Hong Kong House joins Sydney Open this November  
     
  Heritage lovers rejoice! Sydney Living Museums will once again organise the popular Sydney Open on 2 November. One that day, over 50 historical buildings in the city will be open for public viewing - including Hong Kong House where the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Sydney (HKETO) is based.
