  1. Hong Kong Food and Technology delegation visits New Zealand

A delegation of Hong Kong food and related technology businesses, led by the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Fred Lam, recently visited Auckland to identify collaborative opportunities with New Zealand companies. Mr Lam said many small and medium New Zealand companies want to tap into the huge Chinese market, but don’t have the resources. He said that is precisely why they should collaborate with Hong Kong companies to get a foot in the door.

  4. Petite store in Hong Kong sells for $A25.56 million

It’s no secret that property prices in Hong Kong are very dear, but you may be surprised to hear that a tiny retail store measuring just 12 square metres was sold for more than $A25 million in March. The store, located in the city’s busiest shopping area, Causeway Bay, sold for $A197,528.20 per square foot - a record for the city.

  5. Hong Kong students excel in global exam

Hong Kong students ranked third in reading and fourth in both problem solving and mathematics in the latest PISA, making their performance in these three areas among the best internationally.The latest scores from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) have reaffirmed Hong Kong’s high quality of education. In particular, Hong Kong student’s computer-based assessment results rank among the best in the world. PISA is an international study undertaken every three years that assesses the reading, mathematical and scientific literacy in the mother tongue of 15-year-old students.
Hong Kong students ranked third in the world in reading and fourth in both problem solving and mathematics.

Hong Kong has long been recognised for its achievements in IT infrastructure and internet security, and as part of its push to become a smart city, a common brand identify to promote free Wi-Fi services in the city was recently revealed. The Wi-Fi brand, with the name "Wi-Fi.HK" and a unique brand identity, will make it easier for the public and visitors to identify free Wi-Fi hotspots in the city, and enhance Hong Kong's position as a highly-connected city.
