The Hong Kong – Australia Business Association (HKABA) National Office, an initiative set up by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in conjunction with its principal National Business Awards sponsor, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, will officially launch the 3rd National Business Awards at a gala dinner to be held on Tuesday, 10 June 2014 at The Westin Sydney and will be attended by a number of dignitaries as well as representatives of both State and Federal Government.
The National Business Awards are designed to give recognition to Australian individuals and companies who strive for excellence in all aspects of international trade between Australia and Hong Kong. Each of the entrants at these National Business Awards have been selected from the many deserving finalists in each event of the HKABA State Chapter Business Awards.
This year, entrants coming from different States will be competing in the following 4 categories: |

The Judging panel was chaired by Ms. Bonnie Shek, Director of the Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and joined by Mr. Steve Barclay, Director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Mr. Peter Mackey, Trade Manager, Services Australian Operations, Austrade, Mr. Dominic Perret, General Manager, South West Pacific, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and The Hon Ernest Wong, Member of NSW Legislative Council.
This principal aim of the National Business Awards is to promote commercial linkages between Australia, Hong Kong and Mainland Chinese individuals and companies. The HKABA is a member of the “Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide”. The Federation comprise 35 Hong Kong Business Associations in 24 countries with a total membership of over 11,000.

To this end the HKABA is a valuable resource to link Australian businesses with both Australian and Hong Kong Government agencies which are able to facilitate information on trade opportunities as well as the regulatory and legal framework involved.
