  1. Hong Kong tops economic freedom ranking  
  The Government welcomed the Fraser Institute again ranking Hong Kong as the world’s freest economy, saying that the decision affirms the city’s steadfast commitment to free market principles.

The Government is also committed to maintaining a free and open trade environment, as well as streamlining regulations to improve business efficiency, which are the core aspects underlining Hong Kong's economic vitality. The rule of law, including an independent judiciary, is well and alive in Hong Kong and is guaranteed by the Basic Law.

  2. World's largest electronics fair held in Hong Kong  
  Hong Kong is known as a high-tech city, so it’s no surprise that it’s also home to the world's largest electronics fair. The 34th Electronics Fair and 18th Electronics Asia held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in mid-October featured 4,100 exhibitors with 9,900 trade buyers from 68 countries and regions.

  3. Hong Kong earns top three ranking in Global Financial Centres Index  
  The Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) was first published by the Z/Yen Group in March 2007 and aims to examine the major financial centres globally in terms of competitiveness. Hong Kong is ranked third in the latest GFCI just behind New York and London.

  4.  Air traffic at Hong Kong International Airport continues to rise in September  
  Hong Kong International AirportHong Kong International Airport (HKIA) recorded growth in all three traffic categories in September. Monthly passenger figures climbed 4.8% from the previous year to 5 million, while cargo volume registered 5.2% year-on-year growth to 364,000 tonnes. Flight movements also rose by 5.1% to 31,995 in the same period.

The growth in passenger traffic in September was mainly driven by an 8% year-on-year growth in Hong Kong resident traffic. Passenger traffic to/from North Asia and North America recorded the most significant increases.
